A little history on Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Acupuncture treatment for facial rejuvenation can be traced back as far as 2000 years ago. The old document describes the combined application of acupuncture, herbs, and food for a rejuvenated life, hence a more vibrant face and body. According to Traditional Chinese medicine the entire channel organ systems converge in the face and that is why proper functioning of the body will directly affect the face. The fountain of youth is from inside out, but imagine if the internal system is aged. A face-lift might make you look 10 years younger, yet without a healthy glow it cannot be considered young and beautiful.
Cosmetic acupuncture, known as ‘facial rejuvenation acupuncture’, increases collagen production, blood and lymph circulation to the face and scalp. This treatment offers a natural alternative to invasive cosmetic surgery, chemical (glycolic) peels and botox fillers.
Famous celebrities who are reported to have used facial rejuvenation acupuncture are: Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and many more.
Cosmetic acupuncture prevents the formation of wrinkles, minimises the appearance of fine lines and improves the process by which the skin regulates its quality and appearance. It helps restructure skin and relaxes facial muscles.
It stimulates the body’s ability to regenerate itself by accelerating anti-inflammatory activity and removing accumulative toxins from the skin.
Cosmetic acupuncture may help:
- wrinkles
- forehead furrows
- frown lines
- deep laughter lines
- sagging skin
- drooping jaw line
- sagging muscles
- crow’s feet
- drooping eye lids
- eye puffiness or bags

Make food your medicine (Part 1)
Chinese Dietary Therapy for Facial Rejuvenation
When an individual is diseased or wants to stay disease free, we should always treat the body with food first. If that fails to work, then use other remedies such as herbs, homeopathies and nutritional supplements. Food therapy in facial rejuvenation is a powerful technique in smoothing wrinkles, diminishing dark eye circles, eye bags, facial discoloration and more.
The flavor, temperature, and color of food, each has its own therapeutic function.
Sweet foods, for example, have an anti-aging effect that improves dry, wrinkly skin. Pungent foods are good for superficial skin conditions. Bitter food detoxifies the skin. Sour food improves oily skin. Salty food expels skin nodules. Remember all these recommendations should be in moderation so the body stays in balance.
Cold natured food clears heat from the skin and cools the blood. Thus, it can be helpful for conditions such as acne, rashes and spotting.
Red colored foods, according to TCM five- element theory, are associated with the heart and improve the skins complexion. Examples are tomatoes, carrots, strawberries and watermelons. White foods enter the lung channel and they nourish the skin. Examples are tremella, coconuts, bamboo, pears, and water chestnuts. Green foods are associated with liver and they relax the body. They moisten, clean and have anti-inflammatory affect. Examples are cilantro, kiwis, mints, dandelions, green apples, asparagus, and all kinds of bitter greens. Black foods enter into the kidneys and delay the aging process and rejuvenate the skin. They include black beans, black sesame seed, black mushrooms, blackberries, mulberry fruit, and seaweed. Yellow foods enter the spleen and nourish the entire body. They are ginger, papayas, bananas, and pineapples. Try to include one of each color and flavor food in your daily food plan. Enjoy this information and start applying it in your daily routine. Remember to send your blessing to the creator of all living things and have the intention of reaching harmony and balance with every bite you eat.
Sincerely,
Dr. Monica
